About the Author
A. Christine is a Texas writer who enjoys fantasy, horror, and the supernatural, whether reading, writing, or watching. She graduated from Trinity University with a major in English. When she isn't writing, she spends her time making jewelry and desserts (not at the same time), singing, going to school to become a certified court reporter, and poking philosophical conundrums with sharp sticks.

Human Monsters: Serial Killers
In talking about his new series “Homeland,” Mandy Patinkin recently said that he regrets his role in “Criminal Minds.” At first read, it sounds ungrateful, especially for fans of the show like me. But Matthew Gubler has explained before that … Continue reading

Words written since Week 5: 7,786 words 63061 / 100000 words. 63% done! Due to a number of circumstances this week, I’m just glad I made it as far as I did, even though I didn’t make quota. 5k of … Continue reading

Happy Birthday, Stephen King!
I was a secret Stephen King reader starting in ninth grade when I had access to a high school library. Already a big horror fan, I knew I was going to read King eventually, but my mother kept telling me … Continue reading
Nightmare Week 5
Words written since Week 4: 14,144 55275 / 100000 words. 55% done! Since I have a strange fondness for the number 144, the number of words written makes me extra happy. And hey, I crossed 50k! The decision to write … Continue reading

Why the Middle Class is Mad (And Should Be)
There is a wealth gap in America. There always has been and there always will be. There will always be wealthier people and there will always be poorer people. The problem is that the gap is increasing and social mobility … Continue reading

Nightmare Week 4
Words since Week 3: 10,344 41131 / 100000 words. 41% done! I think it’s funny I feel guilty about taking whole sections of the original and only tweaking them a little bit. As though I’m cheating on my word count. … Continue reading

Remembering Technology
This makes me feel a bit like an idiot. Maybe it’s the kind of books I read or the era of the authors. In fantasy, there are more ties to the old than the new. Take, for instance, the world … Continue reading
Nightmare Week 3
Word count since Week 1: 15,729 30787 / 100000 words. 31% done! The novel is moving apace, so fast it’s almost scary. I keep having to remind myself that I’m mostly just retyping and tweaking a lot of it rather … Continue reading
