About the Author
A. Christine is a Texas writer who enjoys fantasy, horror, and the supernatural, whether reading, writing, or watching. She graduated from Trinity University with a major in English. When she isn't writing, she spends her time making jewelry and desserts (not at the same time), singing, going to school to become a certified court reporter, and poking philosophical conundrums with sharp sticks.

Word count: 76,316 words Words written since Week 3: 19,050 words So, WH is officially finished! At least as far as the first draft goes. And the award for longest, sloppiest denouement goes to… Seriously, my ending to the nightmare … Continue reading

Week 3: Femme Fighting (NaNo2013 Edition)
Word count: 57,266 words Words written since Week 2: 26,251 words That “words written since” is actually larger, because I deleted the first 4-some-thousand words that I had whited out for NaNo word count. It’s hard to believe that I’ve … Continue reading

NaNo2013 K.O.
Just dropped in to say that at 1:49 a.m. this morning, I crossed the 50k-word line. I was technically only supposed to reach 49k words, but I decided why not go all the way. At one point, the NaNo stats … Continue reading

Week 2: Femme Fighting (NaNo2013 Edition)
Word count: 31,015 words Words written since Week 1: 15,952 words That “words written since” number should go up by next week, since Week 1 was actually four days instead of a whole week. Also, I have an Overnight of … Continue reading

Week 1: Femme Fighting (NaNo2013 Edition)
Word count: 15,063 words And technically, that Week 1 started after midnight on Nov. 1 with our local NaNo group’s Kick-Off Party at IHOP. Don’t get too excited about how many words that is. All 4k words I wrote at … Continue reading

Fertility
Sometimes during dry spells or while you’re working on something, you worry that you’ll never be able to think of an idea again. I’ve been there, searching for an idea like a scorpion hunter in a desert, but finding only … Continue reading

Routine
She wakes up to the sun bright red through her eyelids, unforgiving at its harsh angle and nearly blinding when she opens her eyes. Norma wakes up, tosses back the covers, and groans as she sits up. She puts on … Continue reading

Remembering Technology
This makes me feel a bit like an idiot. Maybe it’s the kind of books I read or the era of the authors. In fantasy, there are more ties to the old than the new. Take, for instance, the world … Continue reading
Fiction Rule
The simplest way of explaining Fiction Rule is this: Art imitates life, but it’s not a perfect mimic. Fiction is like reality, but there are distortions. Sometimes it makes things look better; sometimes it makes things look worse. Fiction Rule … Continue reading
